Before & After School Tutoring Program
Our before and after school tutoring program provides students with meaningful academic instruction, but that is not all we do. As learning specialists, we go beyond simply tutoring academic subjects; we also explicitly teach students critical learning strategies to help them learn more efficiently. We try to get to the root of why a student is struggling in the classroom, and we help them overcome those challenges.
Academic and Executive Function Support
Our intensive academic tutorial sessions are 60 minutes with about a 2:1 ratio. Instruction is individualized for each student. We rotate students throughout the session with direct instruction, independent practice, educational applications, and some processing and motivational breaks as needed. The 2:1 ratio allows students necessary time to apply the learning, which is a critical component of learning.
Students may bring their classwork they need to complete, and within the context of their school work, they will receive individual help, tutoring, and learning strategies throughout each session. We also supplement each session with our own customized and individualized lessons and materials based on each student’s individual needs.
Classroom Community
Our classroom environment is positive, safe, celebrates successes, and most importantly, it fosters pride and self-confidence in students! We are proud of the connections we have built with our students over the years, and seeing them succeed after years of struggling is truly one of our greatest joys! It is incredible the significant progress students can make when they are given the right instruction and materials at their level.
Additionally, we go beyond academics by teaching and working on successful student learning traits. A student’s behavior has a profound impact on a their academic performance in the classroom. Therefore, our before & after school tutoring program is designed to individually promote, encourage, and directly teach critical positive behavioral strategies to help each of our students develop the character traits, study habits, and executive functioning skills needed to be more successful in a classroom environment.
Independently Staying on Task & Building Academic Endurance:
I can independently stay focused on academic tasks when my teachers are working with other students. I can work on academic tasks and stay focused for an appropriate period of time.

When I am learning in a group, I can think about the other people around me and regulate my behavior choices.

I can stay committed to learning and growing. I am responsible for taking the initiative to follow through with my own expected classroom behavior.
